First thing New Years Morning after our family Bible study my husband declared a family meeting! He wanted to start 2016 off on the right track and for our family that meant slowing down, putting our focus on God first and then planning our family goals!
The New Year is the perfect time to reflect on the previous year and decide what worked and what didn’t for yourself and your family. My husband took this time to rework our family chore chart and decide who would be getting different jobs, who needed to be challenged more, and who needed to show more discipline.
It is such a great feeling when he takes charge and shares with us honestly about his vision and goals for us. I can’t help but to feel excited and safe knowing that he cares genuinely about the direction our family is heading and has taken the time to slow down, and see the big picture! To make sure that we get on track and stay on track! I left the family meeting feeling encouraged and excited about a fresh approach to doing things!
Did you set any new goals for your family for 2016? I would love to hear your stories!
